Training programme overview

Our first year training commences in October 2012.  The first year of this programme begins with a long weekend and runs over eight weekends (most involving two training days Saturday and Sunday, 9.30am to 5.30am, in London, with students arranging their own accommodation), and finishes with a 3-day residential retreat in the summer. The second year of the two year programme will also involve eight weekends and a final retreat.

Enrolment

Enrolment for the Seminary training programme commencing in October 2012 in London is now open.

There first deadline for applications is 31 May, with student places been offered on a progressive basis, subject to space availability after that date.  Those enrolling by 31 May receive a £300 early-bird discount on the first-year fees.

There will be a series of Introductory Days around the country from March.

Semi-Residential option

Students who are self-motivated can themselves create a semi-residential option by self-organising to stay in accommodation with other students.  A list of suitable accommodation will be available from the administration office.

Students who select this option would all be placed within the same study group. This would enable a deeper sense of community between those using this service as you would live, eat and travel to and from the training venue/s together.

The rates are likely to be in the region of £50 for a shared room.

Venue and dates:

Venue and dates for training commencing October 2012 will be available in late- January 2012.

Fees in 2012

Our 2012 fees are to be announced in the spring, but as a guide our 2011 fees are below:

Our fees are offered on a sliding scale that is income-related. This is a way of making our training more accessible to people with diverse means.  The figures below are our 2010 fees; the 2011 fees will be agreed shortly, and are likely to include an inflation-related increase.

A - £2,936 (lower income)

or

B - £3,348  (medium income)

or

C - £3,760 (higher income)

We ask you to attune to the fee that you can afford to pay, and to let us know what that is. We will not ask you to disclose your income and will leave this decision to your discernment. The lowest of the three figures is the lowest fee that we offer. At present our income is derived entirely from student fees. As an educational trust it is our intention and need to run an organisation that is financially sustainable. This is a challenging task for an educational project and all financial gifting is welcome and invited.

As mentioned above, a discount of £300 is available on fees for enrolment by 31 May 2011.

Fees for Year Two

As for Year One (with the possibility of an increase no greater than the rate of inflation).

Payment options

Fees may be paid by monthly standing order. Students able to pay all their fees at the start (either for one or both years) will receive a small discount.  Full details on application.

Other costs

The only additional costs not covered in the course fees are those for books, 3 spiritual counselling sessions in first year, 3 spiritual counselling supervision sessions in second year, and the Ordination stole.
