Post-Graduate Programme

The IMA promotes an expanding post-graduate programme of further training and spiritual growth for all ministers and counsellors.  The programme includes workshops, retreats, short courses and seminars all of which may be accredited by the Interfaith Foundation. This programme is currently under review in early 2012 and changes are likely.

Ministers are warmly invited to step forward, create and offer their own programmes and events for promotion in our Calendar.

Future plans

We consulted with ministers about what post-graduate programme events you would like to see.  This consultation shows most support for the following:

Spiritual counselling masterclasses
Half- or one-day events on topics: grief, depression, crisis and burnout, relationships, sexuality (and feel free to suggest additional themes).
Two or more different topics could be run on successive days.

Ceremony masterclasses
Half- or one-day events on each of: birth, weddings, funerals, rites-of-passage.
Two different topics could be run on successive days.

Spiritual practices masterclasses
One-day events on topics such as: prayer, meditation, singing, journaling, yoga, etc.  Or on specific faith understanding such as: Buddhism, Islam, Native American Traditions, etc.
Two or more related topics could be run on successive days.

All ministers are warmly invited and encouraged to develop and promote their own post-ordination programme using these suggestions as a guide.  You can use the events pages to promote the courses and have them accredited by the IMA.
