Interfaith Ministers Association

Our ordained ministers and counsellors undertake a diverse range of ministries with the public.  Most are available to conduct ceremonies for weddings, civil partnerships, namings, blessings, funerals and memorials.  More private sessions for personal counselling, direction or healing can be arranged.  Ministers are also engaged in leading retreats, running meditation groups, teaching, and public speaking.

The Interfaith Ministers Association (IMA) is the spiritual community of ministers and counsellors ordained by the Interfaith Seminary.  It is the ground from which we go out to minister in service to others, and to which we return for support and sanctuary.

The Association brings ministers together in an inclusive, supportive, and mutually-nurturing community for the sharing and growth of our spiritual life.  It establishes opportunities for shared spiritual practice across the community.  It povides a means by which we can engage together in practice, supervision, learning and development.  The Association maintains a public register of all ministers who offer their services to the community and the public can find a minister for their needs either online or by contacting the officeThe Association is also the recognised professional body for interfaith ministers, defining and maintaining the commitments that we make in our service to others, as well as investigating and determining any complaints about ministers' conduct that may be received.

The Association supports us in both a personal and professional capacity, and in our relationships with each other, with clients, and with the Source of All.  It is open to all ministers and students currently in training.

"The Seminary training is rich, varied, profound and challenging on many levels. While it certainly offers fertile ground for ministry, you quickly realise that Ordination is really just the beginning. That's where having an ongoing professional community is so valuable. Somewhere we can come for support and nourishment as we open to the ever deepening inner and outer journey of ministry".

Our Commitments - the expectations and requirements of ministers

All Members of the Interfaith Ministers Association have taken a Personal Vow, the Interfaith Seminary Vows, and agreed to abide by the Interfaith Foundation's Code of Ethics.

These are the essential Commitments which we strive to maintain in our personal conduct, our professional work with clients, and our public ministry in the community.  In living by these Commitments, we seek to be in alignment with the guiding Source of All in our lives, maintaining clear intent, action and relationship in our ministry and service with others.
