OneSpirit Ministry Training

Dec 16, 2025

There are moments when people begin to pause and reflect more deeply on their lives. Moments when questions arise about meaning, purpose, and how they might serve others in ways that feel honest and sustainable. For many, this questioning does not arrive with certainty, but with curiosity. A sense that something new may be forming, even if it is not yet fully clear.

OneSpirit’s Ministry Training is designed to support people at this point of exploration. The 2026 training begins in autumn 2026 and completes in summer 2028, offering a two year path of personal development, spiritual formation, and preparation for service.

The training welcomes people from many backgrounds and beliefs. You do not need to identify with a particular religion, or have a clear sense of where this path might lead. Some people arrive feeling called towards ministry, others arrive simply wanting to deepen their awareness, listening, and capacity to be present with others.

For the 2026 cohort, there will be two pathways available. An online pathway, based on our Cherry Tree model, offers flexibility alongside connection and shared learning. An in person pathway, based on our long established Sylvan training, offers immersive residential learning and community life. Both pathways share the same depth of formation and supportive learning environment.

What makes OneSpirit distinctive is its focus on formation rather than instruction alone. Learning is grounded in lived experience, reflection, and relationship. Students are supported to explore how they show up in the world, how they listen, how they respond under pressure, and how they accompany others through times of change, uncertainty, and transition.

The training draws on wisdom from many spiritual traditions and approaches this learning with care and respect. Rather than extracting ideas or practices, students are invited to engage thoughtfully with different ways of knowing, and to reflect on their own backgrounds, assumptions, and experiences.

Community is central to the OneSpirit experience. Learning takes place alongside others who are also exploring questions of meaning and service. Tutors guide the process, but much of the learning unfolds through dialogue, shared reflection, and mutual support.

Over time, students develop greater self awareness, emotional understanding, and the ability to remain present in complex or emotionally charged situations. These capacities are foundational for interfaith ministry, and are also widely applicable to care work, leadership, facilitation, and community roles.

For some, this journey leads towards ordination as an interfaith minister. For others, it becomes a meaningful foundation for how they live, work, and relate to others. Both outcomes are valued and supported.

If you feel curious about the OneSpirit Ministry Training, you are warmly invited to explore further. Full details about the 2026 training will be shared in early 2026.
