What was it about OneSpirit that attracted your interest and made you want to be involved with the organisation? I was attracted in the first instance by the role and the fact that I felt I could make a meaningful contribution. As I found out more about the organisation’s work, I was increasingly drawn to wanting to be involved.
What in your professional background do you feel has prepared you for this role?
A background in project management has equipped me with the ability to hold both the big picture and the detail in focus at the same time, while the experience I’ve gained in training delivery is obviously relevant to understanding OneSpirit’s core business.
How do you relate to the sense of spirituality that you have encountered in OneSpirit?
The mission and values of OneSpirit have resonated with me since I first became aware of the organisation.
In what other ways does your life’s purpose manifest in the world now?
What main sources of inspiration or guidance do you draw on for your continuing spiritual journey?
Meditation, dreaming and being in nature.
Where is your ‘edge’ currently — what challenges you most on your path?
To use a skiing analogy – staying aware of my edges, and learning how to use them to steer a smooth and graceful arc.
Alan has worked in the role of Operations Manager for OneSpirit Interfaith Foundation since February 2015.
