“Meditation can help us embrace our worries, our fear, our anger;
and that is very healing.
We let our own natural capacity of healing do the work.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
A statement on behalf of OneSpirit Interfaith Foundation
The deadly explosion in Manchester sends its shudders around the world. To all affected, we bear you in our hearts. To all those from OneSpirit who are directly and indirectly part of this city, we bear you in our hearts. To all those involved in this event, we bear you in our hearts.
May we choose the practices of healing to be with our fear, our anger, our grief. May the meditations that take place on cushions and on the streets, through direct action and through the power of the heart’s embrace, be offerings of love.
May we use this shock to connect with each other at 11.58 on each and any day, praying our vows and intentions wherever we are, and knowing we are strengthened through being with each other at the same time. As urged by poet Tony Walsh, may we and Manchester surrender to “Choose Love”.
