OneSpirit’s office staff team, profiled below, are all part-time and work from home, using online platforms to create a ‘virtual office’.
Alan Briscoe Operations manager, and member of Executive Team
Alan has been a builder, tree-feller, furniture maker, and woodturner before he started work in the charity sector supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society. Now with over 17 years’ experience gained across the fields of mental health, youth justice, and drug and alcohol services, Alan’s work is driven by his passion for innovation and finding creative solutions. He led a national programme to roll-out gatekeeper training in Wales to equip frontline services and community members with the skills and confidence to prevent suicide, and advised the Welsh Government on the development of a national suicide and self-harm prevention strategy. He has five grown-up children and two grandchildren. In between work and shed-building (Alan believes you can never have too many sheds) relaxation takes the form of long walks with the dogs, reading, painting and meditation.
Amy Firth Marketing co-ordinator
Amy hails from Australia’s Blue Mountains, but has spent the last decade in East London. She has a BA Communications (Theatre/Media) and forged a diverse career in the Arts with a special interest in theatre for young people and community theatre. Ordained with OneSpirit in 2016, she is also a certified Meditation & Mindfulness teacher and has completed a range of psychology training courses. She is a fellow at St Ethelburga’s Centre for Peace & Reconciliation, having completed their Sacred Activists Leadership programme. Amy spent the last 7 years creating change as a ‘corporate-hippy’ from inside global companies, managing campaigns and employee engagement. Also a singer/songwriter, her album ‘Watchmaker’s Daughter’ explores the themes of hope, time and love. A proud member of the LGBT community, her latest musical project campaigns for marriage equality in Australia. Amy serves on the holding team for OneLight Gathering, OneSpirit’s monthly interfaith ceremonies in London.
Lindsay Jarrett Central office manager
Raised by a Spiritualist mother, Lindsay has always been a seeker. She left school at 14, wanting to make sense of the world not through academic learning but through her own experience. She was drawn to occupations that brought her into contact with a wide diversity of people — as cabin crew for Gulf Air, on Birmingham’s bid team for the Olympic Games, and for a series of business and social entrepreneurs. She became OneSpirit’s administrator in 2007, a year after being ordained as a minister. Now in the wider role of central office manager, she still oversees the enrolment process for new students. This is work that sets her heart on fire: “being able to open the door for other seekers, supporting them to find the deepest truth about themselves, and the full majesty of what human beings can be.” Marriage in 2016 to another OneSpirit minister, Bob, is also for her “a very sacred and loving pathway for discovering the deepest truths about Life”.
Rob MacLachlan Editor
Coming from a career background as a magazine editor and publisher, and ordaination as a OneSpirit interfaith minister in 2006, Rob feels very blessed to have the opportunity to use his skills (as editor for OneSpirit’s website and newsletters) to write about what most inspires him most: how this extraordinary community of seekers and activists nurture the growing seeds of a global spirituality and consciousness. He also works occasionally as a celebrant and counsellor. He was the Foundation’s chair of trustees for four years to 2013, and has an abiding interest in the broad field of leadership, values and purpose in organisations. He has been a student since 2012 of the Diamond Approach, a path that integrates depth psychology with mystical spirituality; and has a keen interest in Integral philosophy and practice. He recently moved to Denmark to live with his Danish partner, and now works mainly online from Copenhagen.
Danielle Wilson Finance officer
Danielle left her native Texas in 1983 with a view to travelling around Europe for a year or so. She never went back — and is now settled in the UK with dual nationality. She is fluent in French, speaks a little Spanish and Italian. She comes from a business background in sales, theatre design and architectural administration, and along the way also picked up bookkeeping skills. She trained as a labyrinth facilitator in 2002, which then led her into training as a OneSpirit interfaith minister. Ordained in 2006, Danielle took on the role of Finance Officer with OneSpirit a year later. She trained as a teacher in The Spiritual Laws of Prosperity with Rev Maggy Whitehouse in 2013, and now incorporates that work as a way to support students with their fees and money/scarcity issues. Her hobbies are crafts, knitting, swimming, walking on the beach, watching movies and dancing the Dances of Universal Peace.
