Now semi-retired I am living in the seaside town of Swanage in Dorset, where, with my wife, Naomi, I help run a small Guest House and Retreat Centre.
From 2007 until 2016 I was employed by the Mangreen Trust, an educational charity and holistic spiritual centre in the very rural setting of central Norfolk. There I embraced multiple roles including teaching and the creating and leading of sacred ceremonies and worship to clothe almost any occasion in a deeper way. As then, I still aspire to a ‘Whole of Life’ ministry, welcoming whatever comes and celebrating that as sufficient to meet the needs of the moment.
I was born in 1948 into a Christian, churchgoing family who lived in a small Norfolk village. During the first 30 years of my life facing the twin challenges of epilepsy and a sense of personal and educational failure, led me, with the support of a loving family, to explore very unfamiliar territory in search of answers. As you will probably have guessed that is far too long a story to tell here! Ultimately, I was able to turn these seemingly adverse situations to advantage and to discover a whole new ‘Worldview’ and sense of self that did not have to be controlled by external events and belief systems. I recognise that, without the loving support I received, I might never have turned my life around, so, today, in my work at Bella Vista Guest House and Retreat Centre I aim to help provide a loving and supportive presence and surround for others, whether guests, family or friends, and whatever their current experience and belief system. Then, through creative relationship there is every possibility that more of our individual and collective potential may be revealed.
I trained with the Interfaith Seminary between 2008 and 2010 and was ordained as an Interfaith Minister in London in July 2010.
