A Year of Becoming: Coaching for OneSpirit Ministers
Tania remembers her own ordination clearly: joy, purpose, a sense that anything was possible. That feeling lasted a good while. Then she realised there was no map for what came next.
Training had held her in a supported, structured community for two years. Ordination changed that almost overnight. She had to walk it alone, and work out for herself what kind of minister she actually wanted to become, a question she says she still hadn’t fully answered even after being ordained. What am I here to offer? How do I talk about my ministry, or charge for it? What if it changes completely from what I thought it would be?
A Year of Becoming was created in response to that exact space.
This is not further training, and it is not supervision. It is a one-to-one coaching relationship, built for ministers working out what their ministry actually looks like once the structure of training has fallen away.
Tania describes ministry as something closer to walking through the woods than following a set route. Sometimes the path ahead is clear. Sometimes it disappears, and you’re genuinely lost, or simply somewhere new, which can be one of the more exciting places to be. Ministry, she’s come to believe, isn’t something we invent. It’s something we grow into over time, and that maybe grows into us in return.
Over twelve months, you will meet monthly with Rev. Tania Menegatti. She isn’t here to hand you a map or tell you what to do. She’s here to walk alongside you, ask thoughtful questions, and help you notice what’s genuinely emerging in your ministry, both in yourself and in the world around you.
For some, this will be about finding a new rhythm after training ends. For others, it will be about becoming visible, shaping what you offer, or working through questions about money and sustainability. For others still, it may be a season of reorientation, or of returning to a ministry you’ve felt distant from.
Wherever you find yourself, this space meets you there. It isn’t only for the newly ordained. Tania works just as often with ministers many years into their calling who sense something new stirring, or who want to reconnect with work they’ve drifted from. As she puts it, we never really finish becoming ministers. We simply keep becoming, season after season.
Tania’s approach is grounded, practical, and attentive. It isn’t about being handed answers, but about creating the conditions to hear your own more clearly, and act on them with confidence. Alongside the monthly sessions, there is light support between meetings, so you’re not holding everything alone as questions or challenges come up.
By the end of the year, the aim isn’t that everything is resolved or finished. It’s that you feel more resourced, clearer in your direction, and more able to meet whatever comes next with confidence in yourself.
