Welcome!
My name is Justin and I am an interfaith minister, educator and activist.
People tend to find me at significant points in their lives: when they are planning a wedding, welcoming a baby or trying to make sense of a faith that has become complicated or painful.
My role is not to tell anyone what they should believe. I listen carefully, ask questions and help create ceremonies and conversations that feel honest to the people involved.
I have spent all of my working life in education, supporting children, families and colleagues. That experience has taught me the importance of paying attention, taking time and recognising that no two people arrive with the same story.
I am also a survivor of conversion therapy and harmful religious practices. That experience has shaped both my ministry and my activism, including campaigning to end conversion practices and speaking publicly about religious harm and LGBTQ+ inclusion across television, radio, print and online media. It has strengthened my belief that no one should have to choose between who they are and what they believe. I also understand something of what it can take to rebuild trust—in faith, spirituality and yourself—after that trust has been damaged.
I work with people from different faith traditions, those who describe themselves as spiritual but not religious, and those with no faith at all. Whether we are creating a ceremony or having a conversation about faith, we will start with your story and what matters to you.
