What was it that first called you to train as a OneSpirit interfaith minister? From an early age I had always had a spiritual practice in my life, and it was time to step up and go public with it.
In which year were you ordained? 2006
What is your minister’s vow, and your relationship to it?
My vow was quite long originally and over the years it has condensed to: “I let God lead me in all that I do”……which is easier said than done, as my ego is always making its plans!
What was the most important thing that changed in your life as a result of the training?
Living my truth more openly, finding a wonderful community of like-minded souls and being more at peace within myself.
How does your ministry or your life’s purpose manifest in the world now?
I have worked as an acupuncturist for the past 25 years. I incorporate spiritual counselling alongside this and it makes for a powerful combination of healing. The spiritual counselling works on the cause (the mind) and the acupuncture works on the effect that the mind has on the energy of the body. I also love being a supervisor, both to second year students in the seminary and also to other therapists outside the seminary. It is wonderful to be able to give back some experience that I have gained over the years. And I am a birth doula, holding a sacred intention at births. I am often then asked to do the naming ceremony for the baby later on, which is such a joy. In the summer I enjoy doing an occasional wedding, and friends and clients have asked me to do funerals for loved ones.
What main sources of inspiration or guidance do you draw on for your continuing spiritual journey?
The Love of God and how this manifests as an Eternal and Infinite Universe. I am also a long-time student of A Course in Miracles. I read and study other philosophies and teachings alongside this, and particularly the non-dualistic path. There are so many amazing and inspiring minds, both here and those that have passed into other realms. They are such Sources of Divine insight and freedom.
Where is your ‘edge’ currently — what most challenges you on your path?
Keeping to my vow!
How do you envision your ministry developing in future?
I am busy finishing a book on the energetic and spiritual aspects of pregnancy and birth. This may lead into talks, workshops and retreats.
