Day of the Dead Tribute

Passionate about breaking taboos and the culture change of not seeing death as ‘evil’ or Hallows Eve as a time to be sacred but a time of love and remembrance, Live Your Legacy has planned a vibrant and colourful Memorial Long Weekend to coincide with Day of the Dead, Friday 30th October to Monday 2nd November 2020.

As those part of OSIF know, the origins of Halloween date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. It is a time dedicated to remembering the dead, including martyrs and saints (hallows). But far from commercialised ways that Halloween is often know for now days, our event is about an honouring and celebration.

We welcome anyone who wishes to honour their loved ones, ancestors, death and grief to join us to commemorate and also celebrate with us virtually at this time. We will look at traditional ancient customs that have a surprising commonality across the world – such as ‘soul cakes’, with their local Cheshire history. Also, on the full itinerary of events will be a brief insight into our ethos for our Last Wishes Course starting early November. If you wish to join our long weekend of virtual events, please follow our Facebook page or leave a message on our website Last Wishes.

Last Wishes Course

After the Day of the Dead tributes, we invite you to take a fresh look at life and death. Healing the wounds of grief and honouring love as we grow a beautiful flower from the ashes. Transforming the trauma of the pandemic into a legacy of love.

We are running a special launch of the tried, tested and constantly expanding content that has been shared in Last Wishes Workshops for 20 years. Our course is designed to empower you to make the right choices for you, and so vital right now, to enable more people to access this valuable and life changing information.

We have had many inquiries from OSIF members about becoming last wishes facilitators, to hold courses in their local areas to assist people in their community.. Attending a Last Wishes Course is an invaluable prerequisite to facilitating one, we warmly welcome you getting in touch.

End-of-life is surprisingly complex and can be very costly, time consuming and upsetting for you and your loved ones with very limited choices if you don’t know what your options are. Find out about all the complexities surrounding end-of-life and how to navigate them in this simple guided workshop designed to inspire, educate, and empower you to make your last wishes. Learn how to save hundreds if not thousands of pounds on end-of-life, funeral and celebration costs.

With a keen focus on the impact end-of-life can have on the environment, the aim of this positive and inspiring workshop is to give an overview of three main topics:

  • Tying up all loose ends and the Legacy you want to leave behind
  • Looking at options around funeral arrangements so you get the best value service you deserve
  • Creating the ceremony you would like so loved ones can celebrate your life in the way you wish

Content has been created by those with in-depth knowledge of the funeral industry including independent funeral directors, interfaith ministers, and a qualified teacher. All of whom have many years of in-depth experience.

2020 is a time filled with countless uncertainties, emotions are raw and right at the surface. To some degree, many of us are grieving. Yet somehow, life goes on. Here is something small but significant we can be a part of and do for ourselves, our loved ones and our communities to ease the suffering of those around us.
