I am Gillian, I live in Falkirk with my husband, Dave, and our wonderful dog, Glen. Our daughter, Eilidh, is studying in London at the moment.

\After over thirty years in Special Education, I began my new journey as a Celebrant in January 2020. I value family, community and connection and feel very lucky to be able to combine these with a love of Ceremony and honouring life’s threshold moments, of which there are so many.

I believe in compassion, warm-heartedness and kindness and I bring these qualities to my interactions with families: I am committed to listening deeply and working together to craft a Ceremony that is unique and right for your particular threshold moment. It is such a privilege to create a Ceremony that allows us to step away from our busy lives, and our ordinary thoughts. A Ceremony that lets us focus on the power of the moment, and join in connection with a circle of special people, to honour the occasion, the love, the sadness, the joy, the real emotion of the ceremony.

People make stories … And stories make people. I love to be the writer of people’s stories. I love to weave your stories into the Ceremony, drawing on customs, traditions and rituals that are right for you …

I am an Interfaith Celebrant, ordained by OneSpirit Interfaith, and bring two years of training to the Ceremonies that I offer.

I am authorised to conduct full legal marriage ceremonies, and I love all the beautiful locations in Scotland that being a Wedding Celebrant take me!

I have a love of the outdoors, mountains, forests, lochs and beaches, and I am very drawn to offer Ceremonies in wild, ancient places.

If a family member has additional support needs, I also offer help, if needed, to deal with loss, grief and attending funeral services.

Testimonials

  1. Bo and Ross, Comrie Croft
Gillian was a phenomenal celebrant for our wedding. From initial conversation to on-the-day, she was exemplary throughout. She is very experienced in several wedding ceremonies, which gives you lots of choice. She was flexible and listened to our feedback on structure and tone of the ceremony, as well as helped give us direction when it all seemed a bit overwhelming! She also went out of her way to meet us at the venue and listen to our story in person. Overall, I cannot recommend her highly enough, especially if you like a more natural/outdoors vibe to your ceremony.

  2. Alistair and Makiko, Riddles Court
Gillian was our celebrant for our wedding at Riddles Court in September this year and was fantastic to work with throughout. Gillian is a very warm and welcoming person and meeting up for a coffee to prepare the words for the ceremony was incredibly natural and easy to go through, and the first draft was beautifully touching. Gillian was a great, calming present on the day whilst waiting outside the room and at the altar, and the ceremony and vows were just perfect. We were so lucky with so much on the day with our wedding, the venue, the weather and having Gillian as well.

  3. Nothando and Alan, Gleddoch Resort
Gillian acted as the celebrant in our wedding. We are so glad we chose her. She helped make our day incredibly special & memorable. From the start her communication was fast, friendly & courteous. Her guidance in helping us plan our ceremony and make it unique to us was fantastic. Ours was a multicultural ceremony, and Gillian did a fantastic job of helping us bring out and unify the important aspects of our cultures and reflect them in our ceremony. Gillian also has an incredibly warm, kind & calming presence about her, something which helped steady us when the rest of our wedding planning would occasionally get a bit hectic. She’s the kind of person you could happily sit & chat with for ages in a café with a cup of tea on a Sunday afternoon (which we pleasantly did!) All round a wonderful celebrant. We highly recommend her services.

  4. Gillian recently did my Dad’s service, and she has been incredible throughout the whole process and after. Gillian was truly able to embrace the person my Dad was, and all he stood for, and incorporate it into her service and eulogy. We cannot recommend Gillian enough, and will forever appreciate her time and care for us as a family, and making Dad’s service one of “Peace, Love N’ Light”

  5. Gillian is a truly gifted person with great intelligence and empathy. She handled my husbands funeral with real grace and kindness and took my whole family gently through the process. Together we put together a very fitting service. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
