Mark Wainwright

I am an Interfaith Minister, a Buddhist, an atheist, a Jew, and a member of a church choir. I have previously been, among other things, an editor, stonecutter, housing officer, English teacher, and crossword setter. Whatever your spiritual inclinations or lack of them, I will work with you as a spiritual counsellor or celebrant to hold a space where what is important to you is given room to matter.

SPIRITUAL COUNSELLING: Spiritual counselling is a safe and sacred space – which could be a virtual space created by video call – to be fully heard, held, and accepted. I aim to bring a luminous quality of listening to help explore whatever is on your mind. The subject matter need not be ‘spiritual’: whatever comes up in a session is welcome. It might be a profound spiritual search, or simply something on your mind, whether good or bad, big or small.

CEREMONY: A ceremony is a space to consecrate, and to celebrate or mourn, a change or a new direction. I can help you create a ceremony that is right for you, and hold space for your important occasion to unfold: a wedding or funeral, to welcome a baby, or perhaps something much more personal that you wish to mark – a house move, graduation, adoption, or coming out, for example, or a ceremony of healing or forgiveness. It can be grand or intimate, for hundreds of people or just you.
