Tim Ralphs

I am a OneSpirit Minister based in the East Midlands, offering spiritual counselling, supervision and ceremony, often in interfaith contexts. I also have more than fifteen years of performance storytelling experience, working internationally both as an artist, trainer and facilitator. This has given me a deep grounding in global myth and much of my practice draws from this wellspring.

As a supervisor, I work extensively with Wilmot and Shohet’s Seven Eyed Model. I believe supervision enables you to be more fully present with your clients and to deepen your Ministry, whatever forms it might take, both inner and outer.

OneSpirit has been an enormous part of my life since I embarked on the training back in 2011. I have served as a Mentor, worked as a Group Tutor, and helped hold the Tapestry 21 celebration. I currently serve as a supervisor and I devised and facilitate the “Story, Self and Spirit” course – https://www.interfaithfoundation.org/courses/story-self-spirit/

In the wider world, I am a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, and have been a volunteer organiser for the One Tree Gathering, an annual event which brings together Hindus and Pagans to explore the commonalities between our paths. I have facilitated griefwork for the Day of Remembrance for Lost Species and much of my current storytelling practice involves supporting convivial conservationists in how they bring their research to broader audiences. I have worked extensively with LGBTQIA+ and neuro-atypical clients, both in a counselling and ceremonial capacity.

I approach my work from a perspective of evolving inclusion, but some core concepts run through everything I do: I hold a space of deep and profound listening. I encourage mindfulness, whether based in intero or exteroception. I consider the body to be both exquisitely sensitive and precious. I strive, in myself, to surrender ever more completely to the mystery of being. As Rumi writes – There are a hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

Testimonials

  1. Tim has the extraordinary gift to create a nurturing space where you feel special and that leads to deep discovery and learning. Depth of connection, partnership, genuine curiosity, his unique kindness allowed me to to feel more resourceful and to find new meaning and motivations! His evocative, creative questions and observations were precious to make my own creativity flourish more deeply.

  2. Tim was an excellent facilitator. He set clear and helpful boundaries at the outset, and his management of the sessions was characterised by warmth, calmness and gentle, encouraging support. One of the things I was hoping to get out of the course was a return to creative practice, and it was joyful to be able to do this. It was an absolute joy to attend, and I am taking away a great deal of learning.
