The Grove: A Gathering Place for Ministers

Free Online Gathering — 25 February | 7:00–8:30pm (UK time)

This year, we are opening a new space for our minister community: The Grove, a place to gather, to rest, to practise, and to continue weaving the threads of connection formed in training. Meeting once a month on Zoom, The Grove welcomes ministers from the Aspen and Sylvan pathways, with second-year Birch students warmly invited too. Each gathering will be held as sacred space: an hour of ceremony, meditation, knowledge sharing, and honest check-ins, followed by an optional half-hour for tea, conversation, and gentle catch-ups.

Rather than a fixed programme, The Grove will evolve through shared leadership. Andrew will open the first session, and from there the invitation is for everyone to take a turn over time. We will rotate simple roles, host, celebrant, reader, guardian, ensuring each voice and gift is welcomed into the circle. At its heart, The Grove is about connection first. Ceremony, practice, and shared wisdom will flow from the community we build together. This is open to all OneSpirit Ministers.

Sacred Soul Circle

Free Online Gathering — Full Moon: 3 & 31st March, New Moon: 17 March, 14th April | 7:30–8:30pm (UK time)

Sacred Soul Circles offer a gentle, welcoming space to pause, breathe, pray, and be held in community. Gathering twice monthly in alignment with the rhythms of the New Moon and Full Moon, these circles invite you into reflection, stillness, and shared presence, guided by interspiritual wisdom and prayer. Whether you arrive feeling weary, inspired, or somewhere in between, all of you is welcome here. This is a space to reconnect with yourself, rest in spacious being, and draw nourishment from community in these fast-paced and often turbulent times.

Hosted online by Rev Eva Mary Spevack, Sacred Soul Circles weave together interfaith and interspiritual prayers, readings, meditation, and reflective offerings in a confidential and supportive setting. New Moon circles carry a quieter, more contemplative energy, with no expectation of participant sharing. Full Moon circles offer space for optional sharing of prayers, poems, readings, or blessings, always held gently and without pressure. These circles are free and open to all: OneSpirit Students, Ministers, and members of the wider community who feel called.

Advanced Weddings and the Law in Scotland

In-person Workshop — 11 April 2026 | The Salisbury Centre, Edinburgh

The aim of this workshop is to explore some of the more complex and challenging aspects of solemnising legal weddings in Scotland. There will be space to share experiences, discuss current responsibilities, and reflect together on how we can support one another as ministers engaged in this sacred work. The workshop will take place from 10:30am – 4:00pm (London time). Please note, ministers are required to attend at least one of these workshops every two years in order to remain authorised to solemnise legal marriages.

This workshop is part of OneSpirit’s ongoing CPD programme for ministers authorised to perform legal weddings in Scotland. CPD workshops are offered twice each year: an introductory session in the autumn, and an advanced session in the spring.

In Death and Grief: A Residential Retreat

In-person Retreat — 17–19 April 2026 | Poulstone Court, Herefordshire

This three day residential retreat is a space for those who feel called to deepen their capacity to accompany others through death, dying, and grief. Held with care and love by Nickie Aven, and hosted at a peaceful riverside sanctuary in the countryside, the retreat offers time away from daily demands and invites you into a held, ceremonial learning environment. Across the three days, we will explore what it means to support others at life’s thresholds with presence, steadiness, and compassion. While we will gently acknowledge our own experiences of mortality and grief, this is not solely a personal healing space. Instead, the focus is on strengthening the inner ground from which you accompany others, through embodied practice, shared wisdom, ritual exploration, and deeper self-awareness.

Each day unfolds within a container of ceremony, safety, and community. Through dialogue, creative expression, embodied practice, and ritual, you will be supported to develop both personal insight and practical ministerial confidence, leaving with renewed clarity and resources to sustain this tender work. For those who wish to learn more about Nickie’s work, she is also featured in a Guardian documentary offering insight into her approach! This retreat is open to all OneSpirit Students and Ministers.

Words from Our Students

Kim, Story Self and Spirit Participant

I felt really inspired by Tim’s facilitation. I loved his explanations and examples, which were full of prompts for individual interpretation. He has a wealth of knowledge and skilfully manages a group online. It was a very safe space for me to explore my own creativity. It was a really interesting course and I was really sad when it ended. My final piece of work took me completely by surprise and it has made me realise that I have too often put myself in a box so I am very grateful to Tim and One Spirit for offering this course.

Mel, Sacred Activism: Living Non-Violence Participant

I loved it, loved her! Sarah has such a gentle manner, with a wonderful twinkle in her eye, so you know she’s serious, but she also doesn’t take herself too seriously.

Gail, Faith in Black Lives Matter Participant

Brilliant. It is challenging, supportive, courageous and a wonderful starting point for further education and application in the real world. Many hearts opened up to the sadness and pain of hearing about our history. Combined with many healing hearts that are now opening to the beauty and love that is possible by standing alongside each other.

Frances, Spiritual Practice Circle Participant

He (Christo) is truly excellent. He is instructive, and well-prepared, with interesting material and good reading recommendations. He is patient and nonjudgemental. Encouraging and with a light touch and kind sense of humour. The core “practice” parts are very specific to spiritual practice and don’t just turn into a general group discussion or “warm bath” of good feelings; the spiritual practice parts are also extremely challenging at times and sharpen one up in a good way.

Each gathering included shared reflection, spiritual practice, and time for individual or group supervision. It was not a space for instruction, but for deep listening. Together, participants were supported to find clarity, reconnect with their grounding, and return to the compassion at the heart of their ministry.

Lovingly held by Rev. Nickie Aven, an experienced supervisor and minister with more than 25 years in the field of dying and grieving, the group was open to all OneSpirit students and ministers. Participants were invited to bring their tea, their openness, and their tenderness as they gathered in community.

Open to ministers and seekers alike, the Circle brought people together in a spirit of collective learning and care. Participants were supported as they continued to deepen and sustain their spiritual practice within community.

Story, Self, and Spirit invited participants to explore the transformative power of storytelling. This creative and introspective course encouraged self-awareness and empowered individuals to reshape their life’s narrative.

Guided by Tim Ralphs, an experienced OneSpirit Minister, participants drew wisdom from global myths and folktales to illuminate their own journeys. It offered a unique opportunity to engage with personal story and deepen connection to the stories of others.

Whether seasoned storytellers or those newly discovering their voice, the course was open to all who wished to weave their own narrative. Together, participants stepped into an enriching and reflective journey.

Life Beyond Death

Life Beyond Death Workshop was an in-person retreat exploring death as transition rather than ending. Held in London in October 2023, the day created a safe and sacred space to reflect on life, death, and the continuity that connects them.

Facilitated by OneSpirit Minister Martin Nathanael, who brought over 40 years of experience in meditation and inner transformation, the workshop drew on spiritual traditions and near-death studies to reframe understanding. Meditation supported participants to connect more deeply with existence and shared belonging.

Open to all, the workshop offered an intimate space for personal reflection. Participants left with insights that were uniquely their own, whether a softened fear of death, a renewed presence in life, or a deeper sense of their inner nature.
