Having been a Steiner-Waldorf Class and Music Teacher since 2002, I was ordained in 2016. Since then I have been offering wedding, funeral, memorial and baby naming ceremonies alongside teaching adults. I was an assistant tutor with one Spirit Interfaith Foundation for 4 years and have recently completed with my first cohort on the Quietude® Training in End Of Life Spiritual Care alongside founder and Course Teacher, Rev Annie Blampied- Radojčin.
I am co-leader of the Moray Threshold Choir. We are part of an international movement of women who sing to people at the bedside of the sick and dying. We sing songs in three part harmonies that have been specifically composed for this purpose. The intention is to make loving kindness audible.
I am an Assistant Teacher on the Quietude Training, currently based at Emerson College, Sussex, England. This is a training in end-of-life spiritual care and accompaniment. I am a graduate of this course and also offer 1-2-1 work with people at end of life, and offer workshops on various themes related to preparing for the practical nature, and the inner processes, of death and dying. I support people to clarify their wishes for their optimal and realistic experience of dying.
I am about to train with “Pushing Up The Daisies”, a Scottish grassroots organisation that supports people to know their rights and choices when someone dies in Scotland. This network of volunteers (known as The Daisy Chain) help the bereaved to know that death can be experienced as a natural and meaningful part of life, with a particular focus on the period from the last breath to the funeral/burial/cremation/aquamation.
As part of my work with this part of life I hold funerals, memorials and Life Celebrations (also known as living funerals). This is very tender work and I am part of the Green Burial team in Findhorn EcoVillage where we often hold this honour as a group of four, each with our individual roles and responsibilities.
I also have the joy of celebrating weddings and partnerships ceremonies for all, both legal (in Scotland) and non-legal (anywhere, including Scotland). I frequently celebrate vow renewal ceremonies where I have the honour of witnessing couples reflect on their years of lived discovery of what their relationship is really about.
