My work is founded on Love, and a deep desire to be with you and help you through big events and transitions in your life. As an ordained OneSpirit Minister I work with anyone who needs me, no matter who you are, what your beliefs or non-beliefs are, and in these days of virtual work, increasingly no matter where you are! I have taken a vow of inclusivity, and all are welcome with their own traditions or no traditions.
I can design and facilitate ceremonies to celebrate life events including welcoming babies, weddings (legal weddings in Ireland), funerals, rites of passage and many others. I can assist you with your own spiritual health through spiritual counselling, prayer guidance, reflection groups or retreats. Working with you I will craft a ceremony that is true to you and your spiritual life, whether that includes linking to the divine, or not. The ceremonies reflect your life and your views, not mine.
I provide spiritual counselling services for people who seek the divine within themselves. I would be delighted to help you with your major life transitions and deepening your spiritual life. I live in beautiful Galway, in the west of Ireland, and am available to work with you throughout Ireland. I am open to exploring options to work with you overseas.
I was ordained a OneSpirit Interfaith Minister in July 2019 in London. I am a member of ROSIM, the Register of OneSpirit Interfaith Ministers. I am a Registered Solemniser of Marriages under the terms of the Civil Registration Act 2004 in Ireland. I have up-to-date professional indemnity insurance. I trade as Mary McKeown and Company Limited.

We feel very fortunate to have found Rev Mary McKeown to design and perform our wedding ceremony. She got to know us individually and as a couple and worked hard to create a ceremony that perfectly suited us, our friends and families. Mary was a pleasure to work with – she helped choose the readings and music and organise the comings and goings of the readers, musicians, ring-bearers and others, professionally ironed out some some last-minute hiccups and nerves on the day and conducted the ceremony in a warm and celebratory manner. We felt it really expressed who we are and how we feel and celebrated both our families and interests and the feedback we received from friends and family could not have been more complimentary – some said it was the best wedding they were ever at. Mary helped create a bright and buoyant foundation for our day and our future together and we treasure the memory of working with her and of the wedding she helped to create.
From our first meeting with Mary, we knew she was perfect for our ceremony. Her warmth and kindness instantly put us at ease, and she really listened and showed a personal interest in what we had to say. As neither of us had actually done this before, we needed guidance, and Mary was excellent at helping us and tailoring the ceremony to suit us. She made sure the ceremony reflected us as a couple, and included a wonderful and personal introduction.
She went above and beyond to meet our needs, and was always available for a quick chat, email and meeting for the occasional coffee!

When every part of our plan seemed to be turned upside down Mary was a wonderful and calming presence. She worked with us to curate exactly what we wanted and was very open and understanding of our request. She was very professional and had some great tips to make the wedding something special for all the members of our family but especially for the two of us. We are so happy with how the day went and Mary was a big part of making that happen.

Despite not knowing a thing about wedding planning ourselves, when we first met Mary she helped us create an intimate, personal ceremony that was a delight to plan rather than stressful!
